We offer mounting & framing for all posters and prints sold on MADE BY GIRL. When you add a poster to your cart, you'll automatically be directed to the frame selection page (you don't have to buy one) and you'll be able to select both the color/style and a mat. The frames were specifically chosen by Jen to show off your art in the best way, but if you want another color or style, let us know. The mats are a double thick mat and cut with beveling. All frames come with plexiglass and mounting for the poster on acid-free foamcore.
You can also get frames from several local stores. Aaron Brothers, Michael's, Target, Ikea and Walmart all have a wide variety of frames to choose from. The most important thing to remember is to buy the right size. Made By Girl posters come in many sizes so pick the frame that fits or one that is approximately 4" wider in each direction if you want to mat it.
The Ikea frames are easy to work with because the inside sheet can be used as a mat. Otherwise, buy a posterboard that is large enough to fit the inside of the frame - not too thick since it becomes more difficult to cut.
Lay the mat face-up (printed side up) on a flat surface. Using a standard ruler, draw a small dot 2½ inches from each corner. Using a long straight-edge (if you don't have one, use the frame) and draw a light line between dots so that you form a rectangle inside the paper.
Using an X-acto knife with a straight guide (again, if you don't have one, use the glass from the frame and a box-cutter works well) cut the inside rectangle lines and then carefully lift it out. Use painter's tape to center and hold the print down to the mat, then place it back into the frame. Note that there are also special tools if you want to get fancy and cut with a bevel.
Hope this helps!
